Easy and Grain Free Salted Chocolate Chip Scones

Sometimes you just need something sweet for breakfast but when we think of scones, they have a reputation of being difficult to make. Actually the opposite is the case, they are almost faster than making pancakes! This recipe is so easy, I promise even the newest of bakers can make them and feel super fancy about it.

How to Make Salted Chocolate Chip Scones

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Grab a large bowl and add the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar. Add the butter to the dry ingredients and using a dough blender, mix the butter (hard butter) and dry ingredients together until you have crumbles.

Add the vanilla and almond milk. Mix until combined and then add your chocolate chips. Using your hands form a ball. Hahaha apparently I didn’t take a picture of my dough ball but you get the idea. Grab and baking sheet and line with parchment paper. Take the ball of dough and set on the baking sheet.

Next using your hands press down on the ball of dough to make what looks like a mini pizza.

Take a knife and cut into 8 equal sized pieces and then separate them on the baking sheet.

Bake for 15 minutes.

Chocolate Drizzle

You don’t need much to make enough chocolate to drizzle on top. Take 1 Tbsp of your favorite chocolate chips and add to a microwave save container. Microwave in 20 second intervals until melted. Use a spoon to drizzle over the top of the scones and finally sprinkle with some flake salt.
