Turkey Teriyaki Meatballs

My family loves all things teriyaki, although it could be that they love rice! The sweet and salty of the flavors make these homemade meatballs a great option for satisfying every taste bud.

This recipe is a perfect weeknight meal because it’s quick and healthy. If you are a lifting girl like me, these little guys have all kinds of protein. Each meatball contains 6 grams of protein.

Rolling these meatballs with your hands can make you one with your food…haha! They can be a little sticky when rolling them into balls. I like to put a little bit of avocado oil on my hands and that helps but just know these will be messier than burger. Just get them mostly round in the pan they come out great. If they are all different sizes, your family will know they were made with love. 💗

Ingredients List for Meatballs

  • Ground Turkey
  • Egg
  • Ground Ginger
  • Salt
  • Sesame Oil
  • Garlic Powder
  • Onion Powder
  • Coconut Flour
  • Chives or Green Onion

You won’t need much to make these except for your hands, bowl and baking dish.

Now lets talk about this homemade teriyaki sauce! Your sauce can make or break a meal and after all of that effort you put into the meatballs, having a yucky sauce would just plain suck! The first time you think about making homemade teriyaki sauce it might sound scary, but in actuality it’s super easy and you can be certain what ingredients are involved.

Teriyaki Sauce Ingredients

  • Raw Honey
  • Coconut Aminos
  • Water
  • Ground Ginger
  • Sesame Oil
  • Garlic Powder
  • Arrowroot

To create this gourmet sauce you will need a sauce pan and a whisk. Once you make this sauce you will want to add it to EVERYTHING!

After you have both the meatballs and the sauce finished, you will then pour 3/4 of the sauce over the meatballs and bake for 20-25 minutes.

  • 1 lb Ground Turkey
  • 1 Egg
  • 1/2 tsp Ground Ginger
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Sesame oil
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Onion Powder
  • 2 tbsp Coconut Flour
  • 2 tbsp Chives or Green Onion
  • 1 sprinkle Cilantro

Teriyaki Sauce

  • 1 tbsp Raw Honey
  • 1/2 cup Coconut Aminos
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • 2 tbsp Water
  • 1/2 tsp Ground Ginger
  • 1/2 tsp Sesame Oil
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 2 tsp Arrowroot In 1 tbsp of water – set aside


  • Preheat Oven to 375 degrees.
  • Add all meatball ingredients into a bowl and mix.
  • Use your hands to form into balls and set them in a greased 8 x 8 baking dish. Should make approx 16 meatballs and they will be pretty squished.
  • Add all of the ingredients for the sauce to a sauce pan. **except the arrowroot mixture**
  • Heat the sauce until almost a boil and add the arrowroot mixture. Bring to a boil and keep stirring until sauce thickens.
  • Once sauce is thick, pour 3/4 of the sauce over the meatballs. Keep the remaining sauce for adding to rice or zoodles.
  • Place the meatballs into the oven and bake for 20-25 min – or until the center of the meatball reaches 165 degrees.
  • Serve over rice, zoodles, spaghetti squash (shown in picture), cabbage, cauli-rice.
  • You can also add cilanto, green onion, mango, shredded carrot to the top
